Hands Down. The best Concours in North America (sorry other/hopefully-potential-future employer certain West Coast Concours). This is the people's show, ALL the people's show.
Test drive McLarens. Get chauffeured around a naval airstrip (at 175MPH) by the winningest Porsche driver in history. Cocktails with (okay, near) Valentino Balboni. An endless (well, 14) stream of GT40s. Hitch a ride in a 1945 Lagonda Drophead. Study Magnus Walker studying Porsches. Have some alone time with a 1971 Ferrari 512M. Listen to Dan Gurney (he invented the modern day champagne celebration). Talk to Dan Gurney (not about champagne). Help celebrate 50 years of Lamborghini, the Ford GT40, the Porsche 911 and the Corvette Stingray (as well as welcoming the new model to North America). Spend 72 hours gawking, fondling, listening, drooling and enjoying being in the presence of over 300 of the finest/most interesting/strangest automobiles on the planet in one of the nicest settings imaginable.
It's sunny. It's unpretentious. It's extremely well run and it's not to be missed.
